ROBERT A. STOPPERAN
A life-long resident of Kansas City, Bob has practiced law for more than twenty years, successfully representing individuals and businesses alike. Prior to starting Stopperan Law, LLC, Bob was a partner at the law firm of Slagle, Bernard and Gorman. His clients currently include individuals, partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, estates, trusts and tax-exempt organizations.
Bob represents business clients in both acquisition and sale transactions, entity selection, formation, buy/sell agreements and due diligence. Bob has acted as lead attorney for both the buyer and seller on multi-million dollar business transactions. With substantial experience in real estate transactions, he assists both companies and individuals with sales, acquisitions, leasing and development of real estate.
In addition to business and real estate matters, Bob assists clients in all aspects of estate planning, trust and estate administration, estate tax and charitable giving. Bob has prepared estate plans and administered estates for clients that exceed fifty million dollars.
Bob also had a number of successful business and real estate transactions of his own. This experience, coupled with his extensive legal expertise, helps him provide unique and creative solutions for his clients.
Educational Background
Bob received his undergraduate degree from Westminster College in 1990 and his law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law in 1995, where he was a member of the Law Review.
Special achievements, Recognitions, Accolades
Bob is active in the community through his work with local charitable organizations including Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Mercy Hospital, Donald H. Chisholm Planned Giving Council and the Volunteer Attorney Project. He was also instrumental in Slagle, Bernard and Gorman receiving the KCMBA Robert C. Welch Volunteer Attorney Award. In addition, he serves on the board as Vice President of the Sagamore Hills Homes Association in Mission Hills, Kansas.

Bob is licensed to practice in both Kansas and Missouri and is a member of the Kansas City Estate Planning Society, the Missouri Bar Association and the Johnson County Bar Association.
